Trying to find pants to fit over a cloth bum is a trial at best! To make sure they fit around the cloth diaper they end up either being huge in the waist, or far too long, or most often, both. Then I came across a wonderful blog by Made by Rae, and her equally fabulous Big Butt Baby Pants sewing pattern. A pattern designed with the cloth-diapered babe in mind. Perfect!
These pants were made from dark brown quilting-weight cotton and the back panel is from Moda’s “It’s a Hoot” line. To give these pants a bit more substance (and consequently a bit more warmth) I fully lined them with a cream bamboo blend fabric that was kindly given to me by some friends in town (thanks again N & M!).
I think it’s safe to say that Mausi’s next few mama-made pants will likely be this particular style!
