With the beginning of April comes not only the promise of spring finally arriving, but also the anticipation of Easter and all other secular things assoiated with the season: eggs, chicks, rabbits, flowers and birds.
So, without further ado, to ease us into a fabulous April I wanted to write a quick post about this fabulous hen house. We live in a condo, and as such aren’t able to keep any hens. But if we could, wouldn’t it be fun to house them in this?
This is the Nogg. A brilliant collaboration between furniture designer and engineer Matthew Hayward & Creative Director Nadia Turan. The Nogg is built by hand in the UK, is constructed of cedar and stainless steel, and features a fox-proof (raccoon-proof I wonder…?) locking door and a funky glass top that can twist and lift up so that the hens receive a bit of extra ventilation in the summer. The Nogg is designed to fit 2 – 4 hens.
