I had purchased ‘Little Things to Sew’ by Liesl Gibson of Oliver + S a while ago when we were all in Toronto one Saturday. So many patterns stood out, but I thought I would start with the reversible bucket hat ~ afterall, one can never have too many hats, and I need to keep my hat-loving little girl supplied!
For the hat I chose two different patterns from the P & B textiles ‘Spring Street’ line by Carolyn Gavin. You’ll have to believe me when I say that there is a colourful chicken print on white on the inside of the hat…as yet there is no picture of the reverse side, although Mausi does wear it that was as well.
I had enough fabric left over from other projects that I decided to make a pair of ‘Big Butt Shorts’ using some of the hat fabric for the centre back panel, and cuffs around the legs. The brown fabric was left over from the first ‘Big Butt Pants‘.
All in all a success I think. This mama spent an enjoyable evening sewing, and Mausi has a new hat and pair of shorts.
