Oh what a whirlwind the last few weeks have been! We are in…we are settling into our little house quite comfortably, and as soon as the counters arrive (perhaps this week?) the last of the major renovations will be complete.
Christmas Eve, after spending a wonderful afternoon and evening with Mausi’s grandparents and aunts & uncles, Mausi’s papa and I decided this would be the evening we would make the leap and sleep in the “new” house. We put Mausi to bed, and at 10 o’clock at night on Christmas Eve we cleared a space amidst the boxes and put up a Christmas tree for Mausi to see the next morning. It didn’t have a skirt, and didn’t have all of the decorations on it, but it was perfect.
And since that evening we haven’t looked back. The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day flew. We spent a part of each day pulling remaining things out of the condo and cleaning it and somehow, before we new it, it was 2012.
We welcome this year with open arms! 2011 was a good year, filled with much love and adventure, and 2012 promises to be an even better year! We look forward to settling in completely to our little home and welcoming the newest member of the family, who will be arriving before too much longer…
I hope the holidays were good to you and your families, and that 2012 is bright!
